South Portland, Maine Approves Cannabis Licenses for 5 Businesses

The South Portland City Council approved cannabis licenses for five businesses June 2, according to a Portland Press Herald report.

Beach Boys, SeaWeed Company and Theory Wellness of Maine received approval for adult-use retail licenses, the news outlet reported, while New England Alternative Care received approval to operate a medical cannabis dispensary. City council also approved a license for Gele, a cannabis cultivator and supplier.

Now, the state must issue final licenses to these businesses before they can operate, Portland Press Herald reported.
