The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol recently said they would launch sustained protests at the proposed Fresh Pond area site of Commonwealth Alternative Care, a medical marijuana dispensary.
Commonwealth Alternative Care’s CEO is Dan Delaney. In January, Delaney formed Safe Cannabis Massachusetts, a committee opposed to the effort to end marijuana prohibition and replace it with a system that regulates marijuana similar to how the state regulates alcohol.
“Our goal is to make Cambridge residents aware that Dan Delaney participates in and profits from the marijuana industry, and has now launched a self-serving campaign to increase his profits and the profits of the medical marijuana client he lobbies for,” said Jim Borghesani, CRMLA director of communications.
In addition to his role as CEO at Commonwealth, Delaney is a lobbyist for Patriot Care, which recently opened a dispensary in Lowell and will soon open in Boston.
