HARRISBURG, PA – Two state senators in Pennsylvania have introduced a bill to legalize marijuana use, possession, cultivation and sale for adults.
The Regulate Marijuana Act, Senate Bill 528, was introduced Wednesday by Senators Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery) and Larry Farnese (D-Philadelphia).
Under the proposal, adults 21 or older would be allowed to grow up to six cannabis plants (3 flowering) and possess any amount of marijuana. Sen. Leach said there would not be possession limits imposed because marijuana would be legal – and adults are not limited to how much alcohol they can possess at any time, although there are limits to how much can be purchased in a single transaction. Adults would be able to transfer up to one ounce of marijuana to another adult, as long as no money was exchanged.
