COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Greater Cleveland Partnership will urge its members to vote against a plan to legalize marijuana in Ohio because it says the ballot issue would negatively affect workplaces and burden small and medium businesses.
The organization is the first representing business interests to take a position on the constitutional amendment backed by political action committee ResponsibleOhio. The proposed amendment will likely appear on the November ballot.
The Greater Cleveland Partnership counts more than 10,000 members in Northeast Ohio. Members are concerned about the ballot issue's impact on workplace safety, workforce productivity and employer liability, among other issues.
