Editor's note: This article was updated at 1:35 p.m. ET on Oct. 14 to announce that the Nevada Cannabis Control Board (CCB) is now accepting applications for consumption lounges.

The Nevada Cannabis Control Board (CCB) began accepting applications for cannabis consumption lounge licenses at 8 a.m. on Oct. 14.

Applications must be completed and submitted in the Accela Cannabis Customer Portal, which can be accessed here.

The CCB will ultimately issue two types of cannabis consumption lounge licenses—a retail license and an independent license—according to a local KTNV report.

The CCB can issue up to 20 independent consumption lounge licenses under state law, and half of them are allocated for social equity applicants, the news outlet reported.

The application period closes at 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.

Cannabis consumption lounges are one step closer to becoming a reality in Nevada.

The Nevada Cannabis Control Board (CCB) announced Sept. 14 that it will accept applications for consumption lounges beginning at 8 a.m. Oct. 14 and ending at 5 p.m. Oct. 27. Applications must be submitted in the Accela Cannabis Customer Portal.

CCB officials approved regulations governing consumption lounges in June, roughly one year after Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak signed legislation to legalize consumption lounges.
