[PRESS RELEASE] – DENVER, Sept. 29, 2026 – NCS Analytics (NCS), a leader in high-risk data analytics, announced an exclusive partnership with Cannabiz Credit Association (CCA), the cannabis industry's first dedicated credit reporting bureau. CCA's proprietary data set covers more than $3.7 billion in verified payment data to date and will now be available exclusively through the NCS Platform as well as NCS Thea, the lending intelligence platform designed for financial institutions, private lenders, credit funds and other organizations providing capital to licensed cannabis businesses.
"Better data solves most of the problems facing cannabis lenders, starting with whether a business actually pays what it owes," NCS Analytics founder and CEO Adam Crabtree said. "NCS Analytics is always looking for unique data sets that expand visibility into what's happening on the ground. Our exclusive partnership with Cannabiz Credit Association does exactly that. CCA's payment intelligence can now help uncover potential risk through our behavioral and predictive alerts engine while also giving NCS Thea users a clearer picture of a borrower's credit behavior."
Launched in April 2026, NCS Thea addresses underwriting challenges that traditional credit tools were never built to handle. NCS Thea combines government-mandated operational data from state cannabis track-and-trace systems with NCS Analytics' proprietary behavioral and predictive analytics, producing an objective, independent assessment of business health and lending risk. Adding CCA's payment history and risk ratings gives lenders a view of both sides of a borrower: how the business operates, and how it pays.
Collections remain a major challenge in the cannabis industry. Unpaid balances routinely move into collections through CCA's claims pipeline. CCA tracks that history at the license level, including which accounts stopped paying and when. Within the NCS Platform, that record becomes an early warning signal, as a business not paying its existing vendors often signals trouble well before it shows up in revenue, inventory or other operational data.
"Cannabiz Credit Association is the credit bureau for the cannabis industry, with more than $3.7 billion in reported payment data and hundreds of members reporting every month," Cannabiz Credit Association Executive Director Mike Blumenthal said. "Our members rely on our data to decide who they extend terms to. This exclusive partnership with NCS Analytics puts that same intelligence in front of the lenders financing the industry, and it lets us keep building the services our members depend on."
CCA's data will be available for NCS customers this fall. For more information, visit ncsanalytics.com.
