Las Vegas, Nev. – November 13, 2018 – PRESS RELEASE – Fluence Bioengineering has unveiled the new VYPR 2p and VYPR 2x light systems for controlled-environment cultivation applications. VYPR 2 is designed for sole-source and supplemental lighting applications addressing cultivation needs across the produce, herb, cannabis and ornamental growing markets.
“As an all-purpose light which can be adapted to virtually any setting, VYPR 2 enables growers to perpetually create the optimal grow environment,” said Randy Johnson, chief technical officer for Fluence Bioengineering. “The increase in light intensity is well-complemented by the versatility of the VYPR 2 design and we are excited to see how growers will take advantage of the performance enhancements.”
VYPR 2 has been updated to markedly improve the amount of photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) provided, up to 1,700 micromoles/second (µmol/s), at 2.7 micromoles/Joule (µmol/J). It emits broad-spectrum light, and the low-profile, passive heat management designs are low-maintenance and minimize obstruction of natural sunlight, ensuring light is supplemented only when the season calls for it. Additionally, the enclosures will withstand the rigors of commercial-scale agriculture and are easy to hang, set up and move as cultivation environments require.
VYPR 2 will be produced in two distinct form factors:
- VYPR 2x – Ideal for close-range deployments to maximize uniformity in low ceiling rooms; emits PPF up to 900 µmol/s and has an energy-efficiency rating of 2.6 µmol/J
- VYPR 2p – Perfect as a sole-source light indoors or as a supplemental light in greenhouse applications; offers higher light intensity, up to 1,700 µmol/s, at an energy-efficiency rating of 2.7 µmol/J
- VYPR 2 Series is UL 8800, ETL Mark, IP66 Rating, and UL 1598 wet-location certified to withstand watering and nutrient dispersal in the harshest cultivation environments
- VYPR 2 lighting solutions are designed and built in Austin, Texas, with an anodized and extruded aluminum alloy chassis as well as an integrated passive heatsink
New VYPR 2 Series solutions will begin shipping in mid-December 2018.
