Cultivar Details:
Plant Physiology: Irish Stout is a midsize plant with decent vertical stretch. Most seedlings have a broad leaf structure with tight internodal branching. Her lush, green colors begin to fade throughout flower, and beautiful burgundy pigments begin to pop. The resin production on Irish Stout is greasy, much like the Cherry Pie lineage used in its creation (Cherry Pie is a parent of Red Rocket). Upon maturation, dark purple flowers with contrasting orange pistils emerge for a dramatic contrast.
Average Yield: Irish Stout is a moderately high-yielding strain. Indoor cultivators and greenhouse growers using light deprivation can expect yields upwards of 50 to 60 grams per square foot. Grown full season outdoors, a 10-foot plant can yield 3 pounds or more.
Flowering Time: Phenotypically, the best selections of Irish Stout lean toward the Cherry Pie side of her lineage, and the plants typically mature in 55 to 60 days. Irish Stout needs to be harvested promptly within the peak harvest window to prevent flower degradation due to over-maturation.
Ideal Environmental Conditions: Irish Stout thrives in most environments. However, like many dark, broad-leaved cultivars, Irish Stout doesn’t like intense heat during the mid-to-late flowering stages, so she may not perform well outdoors in extremely hot and arid regions.
Recommended Input Conditions: Irish Stout is an adaptable and vigorous cultivar that can handle most irrigation and fertilizer strategies. Irish Stout plants have a reduced need for water during late flower. It would be recommended to slowly back down on the electrical conductivity (EC) the last few weeks for best results.
Integrated Pest Management Notes: Irish Stout has no particular susceptibility to pests and diseases, with the exception of thrips, which may be partial to this cultivar. Due to this, it is recommended to utilize preventive nematode root drenches and applications of Amblyseius cucumeris predators to keep pest pressures at bay.
Cannabinoid Profile: CBD .11%, CBDA .12%, CBN <.02%, Total THC 28.2%.
Terpene Profile: d-Limonene 35.3%, Beta-Myrcene 21.3%, Linalool 13.1%, Nerolidol 8.26%, Beta-Caryophyllene 6.40%, Alpha-Pinene 3.88%, Camphene 1.74%, Alpha-Humulene 1.73%, Terpinolene 1.07%. The terpene profile on Irish Stout is fuel-forward, and beyond that, there is an assortment of other earthy, woody undertones and citrus fruit, ending with a hint of over-ripened cherries.
Quality of High: The high on this strain is relatively strong for many. As a heavier hitter, it is preferable to smoke Irish Stout later in the day as its effect is often described as sedative and relaxing.
