COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Backers of a new constitutional amendment that would legalize marijuana production, sale, possession and use in Ohio are banking on the success of a similar amendment that already is working its way to the state ballot to help their cause.
The new group, Better for Ohio, modeled its proposal after the amendment that ResponsibleOhio is pushing, in many places using identical language to the ResponsibleOhio ballot issue.
Better for Ohio's issue arose out of dissatisfaction with the proposal ResponsibleOhio now is circulating petitions for in an attempt to get on November's ballot.
