First-ever multi-county cannabis summit sets stage for larger collaboration (Calif.)

Nearly 50 representatives from Mendocino, Humboldt, Trinity, Del Norte, Lake and Sonoma counties, as well as other local and state legislative officers, met Thursday for the first of many meetings to discuss a regional approach to the multidimensional issues surrounding what most experts agree is coming: legal cannabis in California.

In addition to county chief executive officers, representatives from the California State Association of Counties and the Rural County Representatives of California attended The Northern California Regional Summit on the Economic Impacts of Legalized Cannabis.

They shared information on proposed Assembly bills, listened to a presentation from the county attorney from Gunnison, Colorado and began the process of creating a regional statement which will be presented to the public upon completion.
