USDA Survey Shows Hemp Industry’s Dramatic Decline

2022 figures for seed, floral, fiber and grain production were down across the board compared to 2021.

The United States Department of Agriculture National Agriculture Statistics Service (USDA NASS) released the results of its second Hemp Acreage and Production Survey in April. The survey is sent to hemp producers nationwide to collect data on the total production, acreage, yield, price and value of hemp in the U.S. The survey also includes state-by-state production data based on weighted averages.

Data Courtesy of the USDA-NASS 2022 Hemp Acreage and Production Survey. 2021 survey results are based on a sample size of 20,501 participants with a 61% response rate, although it was discovered not all were hemp growers; 2022 data is based on 9,114 producers with a 69% response rate.
