Breeder's Insights: Holy Moly!

Holy Moly is a cross of Banana Fig x Animal Mints 198

Bb

Plant Physiology: Holy Moly! grows slowly during the early vegetative stage while the plant is establishing its root system. It is easy to identify during this stage due to its unusual leaf crinkles. In flower, HM! explodes in growth, highlighting the sativa-leaning elements of its heritage. A flowered-out Holy Moly! plant features long, coral reef-shaped flowers. The flower’s trichome stalks are longer than typical stalks, making for extremely frosty colas. Holy Moly! occasionally has yellow, paint-like variegation, similar to that frequently seen in ChemDog varietals.

“Both Holy Moly! and its mother, Banana Fig, were bred by Chloe at Fig Farms. Chloe bred Banana Fig in the garage of the original Fig Farms growhouse. The father was a squat, multi-topped male found in a pack of Seed Junky’s Animal Mints. The Holy Moly! phenotype we chose is really the best of both worlds, bringing Banana Fig’s overpowering terp profile to the fur-like crystal forest of THC-heavy Animal Mints. Holy Moly’s flower shows characteristics of both Banana Fig’s knobby bud structure and the lamb’s ear leaves of Animal Mints. Holy Moly! received the Breeder’s Cup for indoor flower at the 2022 Emerald Cup awards. Banana Fig, the mother of Holy Moly!, won ‘Best Indica Flower’ at the 2017 High Times NorCal Cannabis Cup.” Fig Farms
