Boulder, Colo. (August 1, 2019) — PRESS RELEASE — In support of an ambitious expansion strategy, Wana Brands—an edibles producer—continues to strengthen its executive team with the appointment of Eric L. Block, MAIA, MSF, as Chief Revenue Officer. Block reports to Wana CEO Nancy Whiteman, who made the announcement.
“Eric is a proven business strategist and brings to Wana an amazing background in building and supporting remote sales teams. His addition to the Wana Executive Team positions the company for continued expansion outside of Colorado,” Whiteman said.
At Wana, Block is responsible for achieving revenue goals by managing the company’s Colorado sales team, developing and executing sales strategies for out-of-state partners, and developing and implementing distribution strategies for the Wana Wellness hemp-derived CBD product line.
Most recently, Block was Director of Software as a Service (SaaS) Innovation for EBSCO Information Services, where he managed an entire SaaS portfolio for a sales force of over 70, spanning 35 countries. He has spent over 16 years working internationally managing high growth sales teams in corporate, medical, academic and government markets. Managing over 35 different countries has provided a keen understanding of working in diverse, sometimes volatile, fast-paced and constantly changing markets, and will resonate well with the Wana growth expansion model.
Wana is currently in six markets and expanding to 14 states plus Canada in the coming year. “I look forward to building the Wana lifestyle brand both nationally and internationally. I see Wana Brands as a unique company and brand whose mission is to not only make the best products in the industry but more importantly, utilize those products as a platform to help our consumers improve and enhance their lives. There is a special symbiotic relationship between company and consumer that I have not seen with other companies in the industry,” Block added.
As part of his career, Block has lived in five different countries and speaks three languages fluently: English, Spanish and Portuguese. He holds a Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIA) from Tufts University. He received a Master of Science in Finance (MSF) from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in History (BA) from Brown University.
