[PRESS RELEASE] – AUSTIN, Texas, March 11, 2026 – The Texas Hemp Coalition announced that it transitioned into an inactive operational status on the effective date of Jan. 1, 2026, until meaningful progress is made toward advancing and protecting the hemp industry in Texas. During this period, the organization will maintain its legal standing but will pause active programming, initiatives and public advocacy efforts.
Effective immediately, governance and oversight of the Texas Hemp Coalition will remain under the authority of Acting President Shayda Torabi. Any official communications, statements or actions taken on behalf of the Texas Hemp Coalition must be expressly authorized by the acting president or otherwise issued through the organization’s official channels.
For the avoidance of doubt, any statements, representations or involvement from former members, advisers or affiliates who are no longer active due to delinquent dues of membership, formal notice of resignation of membership or current nonpaying members of the organization do not represent the views, positions or authority of the Texas Hemp Coalition. Such individuals are not authorized to speak on behalf of, represent or otherwise act for the organization in any capacity.
The Texas Hemp Coalition reserves all rights regarding the use of its name, brand and representation. Any unauthorized use of the organization’s name, statements issued falsely on its behalf or actions misrepresenting affiliation with the Texas Hemp Coalition that have not been approved by the acting president may result in appropriate legal action to protect the organization and its interests.
