FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18)- The Kentucky House judiciary committee has voted to approve House Bill 136. The bill would legalize medical marijuana.
The vote was postponed earlier in the day until later this evening. Most of the representatives stated that though they weren’t entirely comfortable with everything contained in the bill, they knew their constituents wanted marijuana to be legal for those with certain ailments.
House Judiciary Chair Jason Petrie said that though he felt the bill was better than previous incarnations, he would abstain from voting. Rep. Brandon Reed voted no, citing some concerns with the language in the bill.
