Easley’s scientific background, combined with over 15 years of agricultural field and biological experience, offers the industry new possibilities of productivity, profitability and professionalism.

Jeff Siegel is the founder of Green Chip Stocks, a private investment community focused on socially responsible investing. Siegel also works as a consultant, has been a featured guest on Fox, CNBC, The Street and Bloomberg, is a frequent speaker at investment conferences and seminars around the world, and is the author of the best-selling book, "Investing in Renewable Energy: Making Money on Green Chip Stocks," and co-author of "Energy Investing for Dummies." Siegel is also a featured editor for Wealth Daily, an advocate for cannabis legalization, an MMA enthusiast and a volunteer farmer.




Schau Jamie Fmt

Jamie Schau attained a B.A. in International Studies and an M.A. in International Development from the University of California, San Diego. Since early 2015, she has been a market analyst with Brightfield Group, where she performs quantitative and qualitative analyses of various aspects of the U.S. marijuana market.




Karrie Kert

Kerrie and Kurt Badertscher are co-owners of Otoké Horticulture, LLC and authors of “Cannabis for Capitalists.” They have worked with large-scale cannabis producers for more than 5 years. Kerrie has been involved with plants her entire lifetime and earned certification as a Professional Horticulturist by the 100-year-old American Society for Horticulture Sciences. Kurt brings his 34 years of corporate experience and operations management skills to bear on the business challenges of cannabis cultivation.




Mel Frank Fmt

Mel Frank has nearly five decades of cannabis cultivation experience and is an internationally recognized book author, publisher and contributor to many cannabis-based magazines. In 1988, he founded Red Eye Press, publishing his “Marijuana Grower's Insider's Guide” as well as updated versions of the “Marijuana Grower's Guide Deluxe,” which he co-authored with Ed Rosenthal. His photographs have been made into posters, calendars and trading cards, and reproduced as art. They have appeared in books by Rob Clarke, Ken Morrow, Ed Rosenthal and Jorge Cervantes. He currently collaborates with a network of cannabis researchers, works as a consultant and is the senior advisor to several California-based marijuana companies.

Kenneth Morrow has been writing cannabis-related articles and books for more than 20 years. He owns Trichome Technologies, a cannabis R&D company. Morrow also is an award-winning grower and breeder. Has made contributions to many of today's extraction methodologies and holds multiple patents. He consults on all cannabis-related subjects. Douglas Brown Fmt

Douglas Brown is a longtime journalist who now runs Contact High Communications, a public relations firm in Boulder, Colo. Among other things, Brown works closely with BDS Analytics, using the company's GreenEdge market research tool to tell data-rich stories about the blossoming commercial cannabis marketplace.




Jonathon Katz Fmt

Jonathan Katz, owner of JSK Communications, is a freelance writer with more than 15 years of experience in the publishing industry. He was editor for Industry Week magazine for seven years, and former associate editor for Lawn & Landscape magazine. Prior to starting JSK Communications, Katz served as a client services manager for Content4Demand, a content marketing agency.

Jolene Hansen is a freelance writer based in Wisconsin’s Driftless Area. A former horticulture professional, she is a frequent contributor to the Horticulture Group publications owned by Cannabis Business Times’ parent company, GIE Media.

Kevin Singer (top) is president of Receivership Specialists (receivershipspecialists.com), which specializes in handling all types of cannabis businesses, including dispensaries, grow operations and infusion kitchens. Singer has served as a court-appointed Receiver/Referee in more than 285 cases in the past 16 years. Receivership Specialists has eight offices throughout the Southwest and Colorado. Scott Yahraus (bottom) is a Creighton University graduate with a degree in economics. He is a Senior Project Manager with Receivership Specialists.




Sam Sean

Sam Fiske (top) and Sean Froelich (bottom) are freelance reporters and producers in Chicago. Along with their colleague John Rosin, they team a production crew and create videos covering politics, tech, business and culture. They currently produce web shows and podcasts for Technori, a startup showcase, and are published on WGN radio. The team also creates dozens of videos for their original news network, Toughington Post.
