DAVIE, Fla. – Green Roads Athletics, the sports division of Green Roads, announced on January 26th, 2018, the signing of a one year sponsorship deal with the North American Premier Basketball League (NAPB).
The deal will establish Green Roads Athletics’ product line-up as the “Official Alternative Nutrition of the NAPB.”
The sponsorship makes the NAPB the first professional athletic league to partner with a CBD-based brand.
“This partnership is a step in the right direction towards bringing a natural alternative to the world of professional athletics,” said Treyous Jarrells, consultant at Green Roads Athletics and former Colorado State University running back. “My motive from day one was to get CBD into the sports industry to give these amazing athletes another option alongside the opioids, stimulants, painkiller shots, and over the counter medicines they’re so accustomed to.”
Representatives from both Green Roads and the NAPB believe the use of these natural products will provide positive effects for athletes on and off the court.

CBD has become a popular topic among athletes and health professionals, following the World Anti-Doping Agency’s recent announcement that it plans to remove CBD, a compound derived from cannabis, from its 2018 prohibited substances list.
“We are honored to be able to provide professional athletes with a natural alternative. We are also making it a priority to provide an educational platform for team doctors, trainers, coaches, athletes and fans to learn about the potential of CBD,” said Arby Barroso, co-founder of Green Roads. “Our goal together is to develop a holistic league, to introduce these guys to a holistic lifestyle that will assist in bringing about more positives, not just on the court, but off the court, as well."
