Wana Brands Adds New Chief Financial Officer

Logan Craven joins the Colorado company and reunites with COO, who jointly helped operate family-run brewery Oskar Blues.

BOULDER, Colo. (March 11, 2019) — PRESS RELEASE — Cannabis edibles company Wana Brands continues to build its senior team in support of its ambitious growth plans in the United States and internationally with the appointment of Logan Craven as chief financial officer. Founder and CEO Nancy Whiteman made the announcement. Craven is based out of Wana Brands’ Boulder headquarters and reports directly to Wana Brands Chief Operating Officer Dan O’Connor.

“The hiring of our first-ever CFO further strengthens our mission to be a positive force in the industry, trusted partner to our customers and a great employer of exceptional local talent,” Whiteman said. “Dan knew Logan would be a perfect fit for the Wana Brands family based on their time working together at another growing business in a highly regulated industry.”

At Wana, Craven’s responsibilities include executing the financial strategy of the company; managing financial controls and accounting procedures; ensuring full transparency over the financial performance of the company; providing advice on how to increase revenue and reduce costs; proposing action plans to ensure that annual financial objectives are attained; producing all tax documentation as required; and supervising the Finance, Accounting and Supply Chain staff.

“Logan has complex problem solving and critical thinking skills that were instrumental in helping Oskar Blues achieve its 15-fold growth in revenue during my tenure there,” O’Connor added. “He was constantly taking on more duties so that we could successfully execute a multi-state expansion as well as integrate multiple acquisitions. Logan has a thorough understanding of finance and accounting, which he balances with a firm grasp of operational needs and planning. That’s a great combination to have in a CFO.”

Craven relishes the opportunity in this newly created position to bring the company to the next level of financial strength and transparency by supporting company culture and establishing financial controls, supply chain efficiency and sustainable growth with local, national and global expansion. “Joining Dan and Nancy in this role is exciting on many levels including being a mentor to others and helping to build on the successes Wana Brands has already achieved.”

In addition to Oskar Blues Brewery where Craven served as Controller and Operations and Logistics Manager, his past positions included finance and operations consultant; accountant for The J.M. Smucker Company; and tutor at the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
