MJIC Acquires MyJane

The curated cannabis service for women presents unique opportunities for MJIC’s strategic expansion.

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- PRESS RELEASE -- MJIC, Inc., a California-based provider of fully licensed cannabis wholesale distribution, retail, compliance and supply chain solutions, has announced the acquisition of MyJane.

MyJane is a Fullerton, Calif.-based wellness technology platform designed to curate personalized cannabis experiences for women, delivered privately to their homes. MyJane will remain headquartered in Orange County as part of the expansion.

“MJIC’s strategic acquisition of MyJane goes well beyond our rapid expansion across California and planned public listing,” said Sturges Karban, CEO and Board Member of MJIC. “Women are the new targets of the adult-use cannabis wellness sector, yet their needs are not being addressed by the cannabis industry. Our strategic acquisition of MyJane will enable MJIC to close this gap with women.”

“MyJane exists to broker trust between women and the cannabis industry and normalize cannabis usage,” said Kimberly Kovacs, founder and CEO of MyJane. “We’re achieving this by taking the guesswork and stigma out of researching and buying cannabis. Our vision is to create a community of one million women united by the benefits of cannabis, and we believe we can achieve this momentum through our merger with MJIC.”

Founded in May 2018, MyJane developed the first premium, curated cannabis service for women after conducting a first-of-its-kind study among 42,000 women in Orange County, Calif. Although 79 percent of survey respondents agreed that cannabis products can address their most common health and wellness issues, 30 percent of recreational or medicinal cannabis users felt uncomfortable purchasing through a dispensary. However, almost 80 percent of respondents expressed interest in trying a curated cannabis service just for women.

In response, MyJane developed a technology-driven wellness community providing women access to cannabis education and products curated just for them. MyJane’s data science platform selects cannabis products to help them get a better night’s sleep, combat stress, relieve pain or use as a replacement for alcohol. These curated cannabis experiences are delivered to members’ homes by a team of all-female brand ambassadors educated on products and usage.

MyJane will hold a launch event this Saturday at ShowGrow in Santa Ana to facilitate delivery within Orange County, through a recently signed partnership. The event is open to the public.
