EUGENE, Ore. - When medical marijuana became legal in Oregon two years ago, a Eugene dispensary started donating medicinal marijuana oil to kids with seizure disorders.
Now, it's grown into a program with more than 80 kids in Oregon and Washington.
Many of the families turned to cannabis for seizure treatment, or in place of psychoactive drugs.
Parents said it's made a huge difference in their children's physical and mental health:
“It's been amazing on so many fronts, for my son especially. He was suffering from 75 seizures per hour and now, thanks to cannabis he's down to four to six per hour,” Stacey Jordan said.
