[PRESS RELEASE] – BOSTON, Sept. 29, 2026 – The No on 8: Stop the Repeal Campaign launched its first ads highlighting the fight to protect the commonwealth’s legal cannabis law and the impact a repeal may have on the public health industry.
As the new ad highlights, a repeal “creates real risk, forcing people to buy products that aren’t regulated, tested or labeled. There’d be no way to know potency or if products were laced with fentanyl, pesticide residues or mold.”
The ad buy will run on digital, streaming and broadcast.
“Over the last 10 years, legal cannabis has had an immense positive impact on our state and local economies, creating jobs and generating billions in tax revenue. These ads will help voters to understand how repealing highly-regulated adult-use cannabis will have a deep effect on Massachusetts communities and our state economy,” Stop the Repeal Chairperson Ryan Dominguez said. “Massachusetts voters made their voices clear when they chose to legalize marijuana, and we cannot allow out-of-state groups to come into the commonwealth and repeal this law. We are grateful for all the support we have received from our regional leaders, public health officials, law enforcement, small business owners and advocates.”

The No on 8 Campaign continues to grow its coalition of supporters with key endorsements from local, regional and business leaders, the Retailers Association, SEIU State Council, Law Enforcement Action Partnership, the Black Economic Council of Massachusetts, and Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, among others.
