SAN ANDREAS — Calaveras County announced Thursday that it will be repaying some renewal fees paid by commercial cannabis growers.
In a statement, the county said it is working toward a final conclusion of the commercial cannabis program and that part of the process included the accounting and possible reimbursement of money remaining in the fee fund.
“The initial reimbursement for those growers who paid a renewal registration fee will occur by October 15, 2018,” the statement read.
Commercial cannabis cultivation was banned in January — a decision that affected about 200 permitted growers and many others who applied for permits after the county encouraged the industry to locate there.
