Lowell Farms, Zippo Agree to Partnership in California

The non-binding, 18-month agreement between the companies makes Lowell Farms the exclusive distributor of Zippo products in licensed California dispensaries.

Lowell Farms and Zippo Manufacturing Co. have entered into a non-binding letter of intent to expand each company’s product presence throughout licensed cannabis dispensaries in California.

The 18-month collaboration between Salinas, Calif.-based Lowell Farms and Zippo makes Lowell the exclusive distributor of Zippo products throughout California dispensaries. The companies will partner on new Zippo lighter designs, including customizable options for dispensaries, such as an exclusive Lowell Farms-branded lighter.

Lowell will process and administer all orders from its Monterey County, Calif., headquarters.

Furthermore, the partnership allows Lowell Farms to retain exclusive rights to the Zippo name for all co-branded events and activations within the cannabis industry, according to a press release from both companies.

“Throughout our history, we have always sought to work alongside industry innovators, and Lowell Farms has established themselves as a premier leader in cannabis,” said Mike DeLong, western regional sales manager for Zippo. “This collaboration will not only increase brand awareness in California but it will allow us to create products geared specifically to this exciting new consumer segment."
