WATCH: How One Small Trellis Netting Change Can Save Money, Time in Cannabis Cultivation

After Denver-based Clarity Gardens adjusted how it attaches trellis netting in its cannabis cultivation facility, the company realized cost and labor savings, plus increased plant quality.

Denver-based Clarity Gardens invited Cannabis Business Times to its indoor facility, which has undergone a complete transformation since the early days of Colorado's cannabis market, to observe and record the team in action and see how changes big and small have improved efficiencies and product quality.

Clarity Gardens operates two- and three-tier flower rooms to maximize space and control costs of production, and installed updated HVAC systems, automated fertigation and irrigation systems and LEDs to power its grow. Moving from single row cultivation and building walls to create multiple flower rooms allowed the company to expand from 4,500 sq. ft. of flowering canopy to 12,000 sq. ft., all in the same building. That has been crucial to the company's success and ability to compete in Colorado's challenging market.

Those are just some of the major improvements invested into the facility. Then there are the granular details that have also resulted in efficiencies and reduced costs. In this video, Lance Savage, co-founder and general manager of Clarity Gardens, explains how using S hooks instead of zip ties to tie trellis netting to its tiered growing systems has solved countless problems and saved the company time in labor and money.
