BALTIMORE, MD, AUGUST 14, 2017 – Curio Wellness, a premium medical cannabis brand and trusted healthcare partner, is proud to announce that the company has been awarded the stage two licenses to be a Cultivator AND Processor of Medical Cannabis in the State of Maryland. Having met all regulatory requirements, as prescribed by law, Curio Wellness hopes to be part of the force that drives a medicinal cannabis ecosystem and results in Maryland becoming a national leader in research, development and commercialization of medicinal products derived from cannabis. Curio Wellness is among the fifteen cultivation applicants who were pre-approved by the Natalie M. LaPrade Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission to bring medical cannabis to qualifying Maryland patients through a safe and effective system, according to a press release.

In the 12 months since their license pre-approvals were awarded, Curio Wellness, along with their construction partners, have worked tirelessly to build a state-of-the-art facility in Baltimore County. This facility, designed and built using both Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Federal Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines, includes 45,000 square feet of hygienic cultivation space. With these licenses awarded, Curio Wellness will commence cultivating medical cannabis and processing medical cannabis-infused products. They expect to yield their first harvest this fall and will begin shipments of premium flowers and manufactured products, including Dixie Brands, Inc. in November 2017.
Their 10,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art, processing facility is equipped with the industry leading Waters Bio-Botanical Extraction System in a dedicated clean room, complemented by an in-house research and analytical laboratory. These forward-looking investments provide for consistent high quality product output resulting in safe, effective and reliable medicine.
