Washington Gov. and AG Invite AG Sessions to a Discussion on Cannabis

Gov. Jay Inslee and AG Bob Ferguson would like to meet with U.S. AG Jeff Sessions to discuss Washington's law legalizing the recreational use of marijuana.


U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions has been taunted by Trump tweets, but that's nothing compared to the flaying Sessions receives in a new letter on marijuana policy from Gov. Jay Inslee and state Attorney General Bob Ferguson.

Allegations by Sessions, in a recent letter on Washington's marijuana policy, "are outdated, incorrect, or based on incomplete information," the two state leaders wrote to Sessions.

"We have twice requested an in-person meeting with you because we believe it will lead to better understanding than exchanging letters," Inslee and Ferguson wrote to the U.S. Justice Department. on Tuesday.

"If we can engage in a more direct dialogue, we might avoid this sort of miscommunication and make progress on the issues that are important to both of us. "
