CHEYENNE, WY – Marijuana possession in Wyoming will remain a criminal offense for another year after lawmakers in the Wyoming House voted down a proposal to decriminalize possession of up to one ounce of cannabis.
In a floor vote in the House on Wednesday, lawmakers voted 38 to 22 to kill House Bill 29, which was approved last week by a key committee by a 7-2 margin.
The bill would have decriminalized possession of small amounts of marijuana for first or second time offenders.
