Humboldt County and state agencies will be offering local cannabis farmers and their employees free pesticide use training Aug. 30 to get them better acquainted with state and local rules.
County Agricultural Commissioner Jeff Dolf said they will have 75 slots open for the upcoming training, which will be co-hosted the by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation, but they will be holding more in the future.
“Last year we had an overflow crowd in the room, so we wanted to make sure we didn’t have standing room and people in the back,” he said about why they expanded capacity.
Topics to be discussed include pesticide use reporting, employer requirements, worker health and safety, understanding pesticide labels, private applicator certificates and operator identification numbers.
