Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards signed legislation into law June 11 that allows doctors to recommend medical cannabis to patients with any condition, according to a News Star report.
Lawmakers gave final approval on Rep. Larry Bagley’s (R-Stonewall) H.B. 819 May 31, and now, with Bel Edwards’ signature, the new law takes effect Aug. 1.
“[Medical marijuana] is already law,” Bagley told the News Star. “This just provides better access."
