Cannabis Business Times Managing Editor, Graphic Designer Recognized as ‘2018 Class of Folio: Rising Stars’

Cassie Neiden and Katelyn Boyden earn national attention for their work in growing GIE Media Inc. cannabis titles.


 Cleveland, Ohio (July 30, 2018) Cannabis Business Times and Cannabis Dispensary Managing Editor Cassie Neiden and Cannabis Business Times Graphic Designer Katelyn Boyden have been recognized as part of Folio:'s 2018 class of Rising Star honorees, a prestigious and nationally renowned group of “young professionals … selected to represent the best and brightest up and comers in the media industry.”

Neiden and Boyden will be formally recognized at the Folio: Rising Star awards luncheon Oct. 9 in New York City.

Cassie Headshot Cropped Lowerres (002)Neiden joined the Cannabis Business Times team as managing editor in February 2017. Previously, she worked as the associate editor for GIE Media Horticulture Group’s sister publications, Greenhouse Management, Garden Center and Produce Grower, where she covered topics ranging from greenhouse design, integrated pest management (IPM), horticultural lighting, urban agriculture and more. Neiden is an alumna of Kent State University’s School of Journalism & Mass Communication with a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism. 

“Cassie has been instrumental in the development, growth and success of Cannabis Business Times, Cannabis Dispensary and the Cannabis Conference, and we are thrilled that her passion, drive and dedication are being recognized with this award,” Editorial Director Noelle Skodzinski said.

Katelyn Boyden joined GIE Media in 2015. In her current role as graphic designer, Boyden designs and lays out each print issue of Cannabis Business Times and Construction & Demolition Recycling. She is a graduate of Ohio University.
