Cleveland, Ohio– Cannabis Business Times and Cannabis Dispensary are pleased to announce key employee promotions.

Brian MacIver has been named Senior Editor. He will also serve in this position for Cannabis Conference.

MacIver began writing for Cannabis Business Times magazine as a freelancer shortly after its launch in November 2015. He joined GIE Media Inc. full time in July 2016 as an associate editor for Cannabis Business Times. Since then, he has been instrumental in growing the magazine and helping to launch Cannabis Dispensary in November 2017. In May 2018, MacIver won a national gold award for Best Company Profile from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE).

“We are thrilled to recognize Brian’s endless hard work and national achievements with this promotion,” Editorial Director Noelle Skodzinski said. “His contributions to our magazines and the industry are invaluable, and he has been a commendable team member as we’ve grown our staff. As senior editor, Brian will surely build on his leadership skills and journalistic talents.”

Scott Anthony has been named National Sales Manager for both cannabis titles and for Cannabis Conference.

Anthony joined GIE Media Inc. in 2013 as an account manager for Nursery Management. In 2015, when the company acquired the Cannabis Business Times website, he moved over to the cannabis brand to help launch the print magazine that November. Since then, Scott has been a key leader in building the monthly print magazine, and launching and developing Cannabis Dispensary and the annual Cannabis Conference.

“To build the strength of the brand and achieve its lofty goals, it requires putting in long hours, and supporting every client in achieving their marketing goals,” Group Publisher Jim Gilbride said. “Scott has put in the time and effort necessary to continue to grow our business in a challenging industry. Our 2019 goals are no different, and I look forward to working with Scott and his team to take our cannabis business to new heights.”
