[PRESS RELEASE] – CHICAGO, Sept. 10, 2026 – Ivy Hall, Illinois' largest independent cannabis retailer, announced it has received approval from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) to begin serving medical cannabis patients at all of its 10 locations.

Effective Sept. 10, qualified patients can access Ivy Hall's full range of medical cannabis products. Ivy Hall's Bucktown and Logan Square locations are expected to join the medical program at a later date, pending City of Chicago permitting.

The approval expands Ivy Hall's ability to serve the community beyond its existing customer base, allowing registered medical patients to receive Illinois medical program benefits, including exemption from the state's cannabis excise tax, higher monthly purchase limits than adult-use customers and access to a wider range of product potencies.

"We're honored to receive this approval and to open our doors to Illinois' medical cannabis patients,” said Omar Delgado, vice president of retail at Ivy Hall. “From day one, our mission has been to make cannabis accessible for everyone who walks through our doors, and that now includes the patients who rely on this medicine most. Patients deserve a dispensary experience built on trust, education and genuine support, and that's exactly what we intend to deliver."

Medical patients visiting Ivy Hall can expect:

  • Priority service, so patients move through the store efficiently
  • A designated medical consultation area for private conversations about product needs
  • Team members trained and available to assist with product selection and ordering
  • Exemption from the state's cannabis excise tax and the 1% Retailers' Occupation Tax
  • 40% off first medical purchase

Patients interested in shopping at Ivy Hall must first obtain a valid Illinois medical cannabis card through the Illinois Department of Public Health's Medical Cannabis Patient Registry. Once certified, patients will check in at reception and present their medical card and a valid photo ID before being directed to a designated medical consultation area or medical line for priority service.

Ivy Hall has 10 locations throughout the state and is open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday–Thursday; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday–Saturday; and 9 am. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
