LAS VEGAS (September 2019) – PRESS RELEASE – For the first time in nearly three years, a completely new cannabis dispensary has opened in Southern Nevada: THRIVE Cannabis Marketplace opened its newest location at 3500 W. Sahara Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89102 with a license awarded to it in December 2018. This new dispensary marks the company’s third location; its two other dispensaries are located in downtown Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.
The local team behind THRIVE received six new dispensary licenses from the Nevada Department of Taxation’s December 2018 allocation; the Sahara dispensary represents the first of the company’s corresponding locations to open. THRIVE will open five additional Nevada dispensaries in the next nine months: two locations in Clark County and one location each in Henderson, Reno and Elko County.
“I moved to Nevada from Colorado in early 2015 specifically because I respected the state’s long and established regulatory structure for sensitive industries, so we were gratified to be among the companies granted new licenses late last year,” said Mitch Britten, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of THRIVE Cannabis Marketplace. “We passionately believe in destigmatizing cannabis and the best way to achieve that goal is operating in a rigorous regulatory environment.”
In addition to operating THRIVE, Britten serves as CEO of Green & Gold Supply Co., a cultivation facility located in North Las Vegas. Unlike many cultivation facilities, Green & Gold Supply Co. adheres to strict off-peak power schedule and follows water conservation principals to ensure the energy-efficiency of its operation.
