Groundworks Industries Acquires Farma in Portland, Ore.

The news is a major development for one of the city’s most well-known retail brands.

Oregon Portland

Groundworks Industries added to its expanding Oregon cannabis portfolio with the acquisition of Farma, a Portland dispensary that quickly gained a presence in the marketplace for its highly regarded customer engagement and service. The deal is a major pickup for the vertically integrated cannabis company, which has made investments across the Oregon supply chain.

“This acquisition will allow both organizations to draw on their collective retail expertise while enabling Groundworks to leverage Farma’s knowledge base and deep experience in cannabis education to create development opportunities for consumer engagement under the Groundworks umbrella,” according to a statement on Groundworks’ website

Terms were not publicly disclosed.

The news, first reported by Portland Business Journal, is a major development for one of the city’s most well-known retail brands.

Earlier this year, Willamette Week described Farma as “part neighborhood bar, part think-tank, part spaceship,” offering accolades for the dispensary’s keen ability to weave a sense of community with cannabis business acumen and high-quality products. “Almost upon opening, Farma was a cannabis landmark,” the paper wrote.

On the retail side in Oregon, Farma joins Groundworks' other acquisitions: two Serra stores and four Electric Lettuce stores.
