A Canada-based dispensary has launched a COVID-19 vaccine incentive program, following in the footsteps of U.S. dispensaries.
As previously reported by Cannabis Dispensary, Washington and Arizona partnered with cannabis businesses to offer incentives in pre-roll form to residents who receive the COVID-19 vaccine and show proof of vaccination.
Delta 9, a chain of recreational cannabis stores in Manitoba, recently announced the launching of its "Joints for Jabs" vaccine reward program to encourage Manitobans to become fully vaccinated.
According to the press release, the program will run from June 21 to September 30 and consists of monthly prize drawings. The prizes include three grand prize drawings for a one-year supply of cannabis up to $100 per month (or approximately 28 grams per month), 20 free joints every month at all Delta 9 locations in Manitoban and Delta 9 apparel giveaways.
Individuals must receive two shots of a COVID-19 vaccine, be fully vaccinated and show proof of both vaccine shots to be eligible to enter the giveaway at every Delta 9 retail store in Manitoba.
"We want to encourage all Manitobans to get vaccinated as soon as possible to help ensure that we can all get back to doing the things we love with our friends and family," said John Arbuthnot, CEO of Delta 9 in a press release. “Our hope is that the ‘Joints for Jabs’ program will contribute to achieve this objective."
Delta 9’s ultimate objective is to encourage residents to get vaccinated to contribute to the re-opening of local communities and the economy, as well as support the Provincial Government's "4-3-2-One Great Summer Re-Opening Path" program, according to the release.
Delta 9 staff members will verify an individual’s eligibility by checking their immunization record and the winners will be drawn on July 31, Aug. 31 and Sept. 30.
