The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission will award its final two dispensary licenses (for now) to businesses whose applications have expired. The unanimous decision lets the commission avoid having to set up an entirely new licensing process and timeline.
Green Remedies Group and T&C Management each picked up a license—in west-central Arkansas and southwest Arkansas, respectively.
This move demands approval from the governor’s office and a legislative committee, according to The Arkansas Times, which could push the actual issuance of the licenses into the end of 2021 or sometime early next year.
Just last month, the state’s medical cannabis market surpassed $365 million in total sales.
