Some investors are hoping marijuana is the next big thing, but the Alabama Securities Commission does not want you to invest in it.
The Commission released warnings against three trends in investing this week: marijuana, digital currencies like bitcoins, and binary options.
"At first glance, these products appear to have no real connection to one another," ASC Director Joseph Borg said in a statement. "But what they all have in common is their recent emergence as three investments that both sellers and buyers hope will become the 'next big thing.' Before you consider investing, make sure you understand what these products are, their benefits, and their risks."
The commission also warned against all three last year.
