OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma State Board of Health voted unanimously to adopt a new set of medical marijuana rules after the passage of State Question 788.
Board members voted in favor of the new rules during a meeting Wednesday while in executive session. The vote came after the board initially adopted controversial rules on July 10.
Some of those controversial rules included a ban on the sale of smokable products at dispensaries and requiring a pharmacist at dispensaries. Shortly after the controversial rules' passage, Attorney General Mike Hunter said the board voted on rules that were not consistent with the will of the people when they voted in favor of State Question 788.
The new set of rules excludes the ban on selling smokable products and the requirement of pharmacists at dispensaries. The proposed revisions to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority's rules can be found here.
