Just ahead of 4/20, Snoop Dogg, Death Row Records & Hill Beverage Company announced their new partnership with Total Wine & More to debut the Do it Fluid line of CBD- and hemp-derived THC- infused beverages at all Total Wine locations throughout California. The product line—from Hill Beverage Co. and made in collaboration with Snoop Dogg and Death Row Records—will also be available nationwide via a delivery partnership with Total Wine. Now, Bayou City Hemp Company and 8th Wonder have announced a partnership with Total Wine & More, the country’s largest independent retailer of fine wine, with 266 superstores across 28 states, according to the company’s website.
Bayou City Hemp acquired 8th Wonder, Houston’s decade-old brewery and distillery, in 2023, and their full portfolio of hemp-derived THC beverages will now be available in all 38 Total Wine stores throughout Texas and all five Louisiana locations, according to a press release issued May 14 by Bayou City Hemp Company. Products available include HOWDY, Beach Break, and 8th Wonder Cannabis.
Total Wine approached Bayou City Hemp about a potential partnership after their acquisition of 8th Wonder, according to Bayou City Hemp.
“We are thrilled to partner with Total Wine & More, marking a significant milestone in our journey to integrate low-dose hemp derived THC products into mainstream retail channels,” Ben Meggs, CEO of Bayou City Hemp and 8th Wonder, told CBT. “Together, we are trailblazing a new category in the beverage industry, ensuring our innovative portfolio of consumer products are as accessible as their alcohol counterparts.”
“Over 1,000 major metro retailers in the Lone Star State have embraced these products with open arms thanks in large part to earned consumer trust,” according to the press release. And as a result, Bayou City Hemp and 8th Wonder “expect to see their footprint double over the next month as other retailers add the full portfolio to their shelves, menus, and bars.”
“Our portfolio of THC-infused beverages continues to expand due to the overwhelming popularity of our products,” Meggs said. “Consumer trends have shaped the future of our brand and business. We adapt to meet the preferences of our consumers, which is why we are leaning into these alcohol alternatives and we’re seeing massive success.”
In addition to its Texas footprint, Bayou City Hemp and 8th Wonder will be entering into two to three new states during the course of the next few months, according to the release.
CBT contacted Total Wine & More for a comment but had not heard back at the time of publication.
