Colorado Generates nearly $53 million in marijuana tax revenue through September

Check out the latest data from the Colorado Department of Revenue on marijuana taxes generated through September this year. (And Colorado residents are set to get a "marijuana tax refund" due to excess revenue.) For comparison, Colorado generated $39.86 million in the entire year of 2013 from sales, use and excise tax on alcohol.

September: $7.23 million

August: $7.74 million

July: $7.41 million

June: $6.52 million

May: $5.72 million

April: $5.27 million

March: $4.98 million

February: $4.09 million

January: $3.52 million

The Washington Post reports that revenue from the sale of marijuana is coming in at around $30 million per month.
