FORT COLLINS, CO – January 11, 2018 - Sunrise Genetics, Inc., the parent company of Marigene and Hempgene, has been selected to organize a cannabis genomics panel at the 26th Annual Plant and Animal Genome Conference held in San Diego, 2018, according to a press release. The featured scientists will be discussing the results of decades-long research that has led to huge strides within the industry and genomics as a whole, despite federal and financial setbacks. The inaugural workshop is titled "Cannabis Genomics: Advances and Applications,“ and will feature Dr. CJ Schwartz and Christopher Grassa from Sunrise Genetics, along with industry researchers in the field, Dr. George Weiblen, University of Minnesota, USA; Dr. Graham King, Southern Cross University, Australia; Dr. Jon Page, University of British Columbia, Canada; and Dr. John McKay, Colorado State University, USA, discussing past and current research focused on generating genomic tools for cannabis to further the development of dedicated cultivars for the emerging cannabis industry.
