Tree Of Life Seeds Industrial Hemp Seminar Resized

Little Rock, AR - The Industrial Hemp Research Pilot Program is coming to Arkansas in 2018! In anticipation, Arkansas-owned Tree of Life Seeds, the Arkansas Cannabis Industry Association and Ounce Magazine are hosting a free public education seminar, Growing Industrial Hemp in Arkansas. The event aims to educate farmers, ancillary businesses and anyone interested in growing industrial hemp. Topics will include: why hemp is vastly different than medical cannabis, why hemp is an excellent alternative crop, the rules and regulations of growing hemp in Arkansas, the process and benefits of growing hemp for CBD production and the economics of hemp farming. Attendees will hear from representatives with the Arkansas State Plant Board and industry insiders with years of experience growing, processing and testing Industrial hemp across several states, according to a press release.

After 80 years of prohibition, industrial hemp is now legal in Arkansas. With the passage of Arkansas House Bill 1778, which became Act 981, the state approved farmers to grow experimental plots of industrial hemp.In addition, the plant is federally approved to be grown for research under the 2014 Farm Bill. Hemp is known to be an excellent alternative crop and the program is expected to grow into large-scale hemp production over the next few years. The emergence of this new industry brings many questions. Tree of Life Seeds identified this and aims to answer the public’s questions with this free event.

The seminar, titled Growing Industrial Hemp in Arkansas: Plant. Profit. Repeat., will be held on Feb. 22, 2018 from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Comfort Inn & Suites Presidential in Little Rock. Organizers expect a large turnout for this free event and seating is limited.
