For growers of seedless cannabis (sinsemilla) essential oil varieties rich in various cannabinoids and terpenes seeking guidance from other industries, the tobacco, wine, and beer industries offer many parallels. The hop industry, however, provides additional relevant comparisons and several valuable lessons.

Humulus plants, which produce brewing hops, are close relatives to Cannabis, and hemp and hop crops are agronomically similar. Hop growers and processors have lengthy commercial track records uninterrupted by prohibition and provide us with a preview of how commercial Cannabis production may unfold in the near future.
