The Fortuna City Council tonight unanimously voted to charge residents to register personal cultivation grows in their own homes.
The move means residents who wish to grow their allotted six plants at home will be required to pay $100 to the city to register the grows. It also means residents will have to submit to compliance checks by local authorities.

No members of the public sought to comment on the issue and council restricted questions as to how to best get the word out.
