Sheldon Adelson, a man who amassed a $36 billion fortune by building giant casinos around the world, appears vehemently opposed to Florida’s quest for medical marijuana.
Amendment 2 has become an expensive mid-term election battle with millions spent in advertising on either side of the argument. Adelson himself has donated millions to the anti-Amendment 2 side (a practice he is certainly familiar with). At the end of last week, it was announced that the casino magnate would inject another $1.5 million to help fund “Vote No On 2 television campaigns.
