Another likely Republican presidential contender has come out in favor of letting states legalize marijuana without federal interference, though he continues to be critical of Obama administration enforcement policies which have largely allowed that to happen.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) , responding to a question about Colorado’s marijuana laws on Thursday from Fox News Host Sean Hannity, said, “I actually think this is great embodiment of what Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis called ‘the laboratories of democracy.’ If the citizens of Colorado decide they want to go down that road, that’s their prerogative. I don’t agree with it, but that’s their right.”
