The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) plans to open the country’s first-ever marijuana-centric museum exhibition this April.
“Altered State: Marijuana and California” will explore many uses of cannabis as well as changing public attitudes and other related issues, according to an OMCA press release.
The exhibit is “designed as a catalyst for conversation and reflection,” according to OMCA, and will provide museum visitors the opportunity to “add their voices to the evolving conversation.”
“California is on the verge of making important decisions around marijuana that will impact people living in this state,” Kelly McKinley, director of the OMCA Lab. “OMCA is a place where people can come together to learn, question and add their voice to the different points of view around this topic at a very critical time in public decision making.”
