Cannabis Business Times Appoints Cassie Neiden as Managing Editor

CLEVELAND, OHIO — Cannabis Business Times (CBT), a leading business-to-business media brand serving businesses in the legal cannabis cultivation industry, announced Feb. 10 the appointment of Cassie Neiden to the position of managing editor. Neiden will manage production for CBT’s forthcoming print magazine, write features and news articles for CBT magazine, CannabisBusinessTimes.com and the brand’s weekly e-mail newsletter, as well as handle various other editorial responsibilities for the popular media brand.

Neiden has worked at CBT’s parent company, Cleveland-based GIE Media Inc., since 2014, when she joined as an associate editor for Greenhouse Management and Produce Grower magazines. She brought to that position experience from her internship at Cleveland Magazine and ongoing freelance work, with articles published in national and regional business and consumer publications such as Yahoo! Tech, France 24, Phys.org, MarthaStewartWeddings.com, Garden Center magazine, Cleveland Magazine and more. She was promoted to associate editor in March 2016 and was a key asset in pushing the GM and PG brands to higher readership levels.

“We are thrilled to have Cassie join the CBT team. Her editorial experience with other horticulture publications Greenhouse Management and Produce Grower will be a tremendous asset to CBT and our Cannabis 2017: Cultivation Conference, and her extensive writing experience will strengthen Cannabis Business Times’ print magazine and constantly growing digital presence,” says CBT Editor Noelle Skodzinski. “Her rapid advancement within the company is a testimony to her hard work and talent, and CBT Associate Editor Brian MacIver and I are looking forward to working with her in serving the cannabis cultivation market.”

CBT Group Publisher Jim Gilbride — who also oversees several other GIE Media publications (including Greenhouse Management Garden Center Produce Grower and  Nursery Management) — comments, “Cassie has been a key asset to GIE Media, Inc. for two years, and her talents will help support CBT’s rapid growth in this burgeoning industry, as well as help drive the brand to an even stronger leadership position across our print, digital and live-event platforms.”

“I’m thrilled to be joining the Cannabis Business Times team,” says Neiden. “Not only will I have the opportunity to build on my horticulture knowledge and grow as a journalist, but most importantly, I’m looking forward to working alongside my talented peers to help cultivators improve their operations and their bottom lines.”
