San Juan, Puerto Rico - Knox Medical Puerto Rico opened its first medical cannabis dispensary to a crowd of patients, physicians, and industry professionals this week. This marks the first time a Florida-based medical cannabis company has expanded its operations to Puerto Rico.

The Knox Medical dispensary is located at 1332 Roosevelt Ave. in San Juan, and is authorized to dispense and deliver low-THC and medical cannabis products to qualified patients. Patients from Florida and other states visiting the island can access their medication and purchase product after presenting a valid medical marijuana ID card to the Puerto Rico Department of Cannabis.
Knox Medical Puerto Rico sources all product from our cultivation and processing facility in Barranquitas, PR, which operates according to the company's strict national standards for cultivation, quality, and testing practice.
"Knox has invested in state-of-the-art technology to support the development of our medicines. Retired engineers from NASA designed our extraction equipment and our head of manufacturing has degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience and in Microbiology and Cell Sciences. The growing area is equipped with a radio frequency identification (RFID) system to monitor product at each stage of production until it reaches the patient's hands. The Barranquitas facility meets the high bar set by our manufacturing facilities in Florida and elsewhere in the US,” Hidalgo said.

At a Jan. 13 certification event at Knox Medical's San Juan dispensary, more than 60 patients were certified by a licensed ordering physician for their medical marijuana card.
