MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Caroline German of Mountain State Natural Care LLC aims to operate one of the 30 dispensaries allowed for by West Virginia's new medical-cannabis law.
"Berkeley County itself is an epicenter of patient need," German told the Berkeley County (W.Va.) Council on Thursday, pointing to hundreds of opioid overdoses that have been reported in the community in recent years.
Approved medical conditions for medical cannabis include cancer, HIV, epilepsy, post-traumatic stress disorder and opioid dependency, she said.
